Khorlo

The Khorlo (འཁོར་ལོ་) student group was started in the fall semester of 2010 by a group of Modern Tibetan Studies graduate students led by Tracy (Howard) Stilerman and Elizabeth Reynolds. In the fall of 2016, graduate students Riga Shakya and Barton Qian applied and were accepted for official institutionalization by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at Columbia University.  The group is currently managed by graduate student, Yuyuan (Victoria) Liu. Its mission is to be a resourceful platform for students (both undergraduate and graduate), staff, and faculty interested in the history, culture, society, economy, and politics of modern Tibet both at Columbia and in the broader New York area to share their passion for the field.
